Type VII A(lv18)
The Type VII U-boat is a single-hulled attack U-boat with externally mounted dive cells and a central main deve cell in the pressure hull.
VII型U艇是採用外掛電池和在耐壓船殼中央部份放置電池的單殼攻擊潛艇
The pressure hull is constructed from mild steel and is fully welded apart from the area over the main engines, This area is riveted as it must be accessible should the drive unit need to be replaced.
